East Window Emergency Appeal

‘During the current works of maintenance to the east gable of our church, it has been discovered that some of the stonework surrounding the east window is in a dangerously decayed state. New curved stones will have to be specially made and fitted as replacements in order to restore this outstanding window to a sound condition.

Therefore we’ve launched an emergency appeal so that we can get this work done now before something disastrous happens.

The full works are quoted at £8850+vat – some of which we hope to raise from grant awarding trusts, but some of which we need to raise from the local community. If a lot of people give a little we should meet this target quickly and easily and each will know that they have helped give a long term future to this beautiful part of our village church. (The stonework being repaired was installed 350 years ago, so this should last that long or longer).

Are you able to help – even just a little

Then please give using the button below, or by contacting one of the wardens or P.C.C Members who will ensure your donation goes to this cause. If you do not give electronically please ask about Gift Aiding your donation (if you’re able to Gift Aid that is).

East Window Appeal

Thank you

You may remember that twenty years ago the East Window was removed and re-leaded. This work is still in good condition, but what has deteriorated is the stonework around the window, so that the window is no longer secure at its top and lets water in around its edge. This repair will mean we have a good window in a good casing, which should last for a long time.
